April 1st, 2013 Madhu Krishnamurthy’s constant help and 
support during my days in the bay area and while I was serving kknc.org, made my life easy in many ways. He writes regularly for his blog: rasikararajya.blogspot.in and also hosts Kannada Radio Program in silicon valley, apart from being a very active member of kknce.org, He writes some nice words on me here. Thank you, Madhu.
I am excited to announce that my good friend Ravi Krishnareddy is now contesting Karnataka’s assembly elections to be held on May 5th 2013. He has entered the field in the prestigious BTM layout constituency in Bengaluru. He is representing Loka Satta Party started by Dr. Jayaprakash Narayan. Lokasatta Party is contesting the elections all over India to bring good governance and positive changes in Indian politics.
Ravi has a Master’s degree in Computer Science and is a Software Engineer by profession and has worked in the Silicon Valley for about 10 years.
Ever since I first met him I have been a great admirer of Ravi for his leadership qualities and social concerns. He is a very progressive thinker and an excellent writer in both Kannada and English. His desire to cause positive change and his can-do attitude make him an excellent leader and a trust worthy public figure.
He demonstrated these qualities quite early when he worked as a committee member for Kannada Koota of Northern California (KKNC) and soon went on to become the President of KKNC. Under his Presidency KKNC produced some high quality activities including a two day Kannodthsava event which was a first of its kind for KKNC. He also founded a Kannada magazine called Vikrantha Karnataka. He has written a few books in Kannada and translated a few English books to Kannada. He created an educational film in Kannada to describe the formation of earth and the evolutionary process.
In 2008 he moved back to India and contested the Karnataka MLA election to high light the need for contesting elections with honesty and integrity.
Now he is contesting for the BTM layout’s MLA seat. I have been talking with him and find it very encouraging that good people like him are entering Indian politics. His positive attitude and energy is infectious. This educated and well meaning gentleman is very well positioned to enter and succeed in Indian politics. Every time I talk to him I come off thinking Ravi has a very good understanding of the current political system in India and its future course. He has very clear and educated thoughts on the Indian society and the desperate need for its development. His understanding of the issues of globalization and climate change and their effects on India convinces me that he will be a great asset to the Indian society.
The electorate in BTM layout has a very big section of people who work in the high-tech industry and other professional services. It is very important that they all get this message. It will then encourage them to come and vote for a good candidate like Ravi Krishnareddy.
One of the corner stones of Ravi Krishnareddy’s campaign is that it will follow the Election Commission’s guidelines and will maintain records of all the election related expenses to ensure that his campaign abides by campaign finance limits set by the Election Commission of India.
